Privacy Policy
Effective July 11, 2026
This policy explains what information SectorBrief collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the SectorBrief website, portal, and email briefings (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address (used to sign in and to deliver briefs), and any profile details you choose to provide, such as your name, role, and company.
Coverage preferences. The settings that shape your briefs: sector, focus, geography, content brief, tone, watchlist tickers and company names, custom sources, sections, length, and cadence.
Usage information. Operational records needed to run the Service, such as briefs generated and sent, preview usage, and basic technical logs. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the Service.
Local storage. The portal stores small preferences in your browser (such as theme and session tokens) so you stay signed in and keep your display settings. These are functional, not advertising, technologies.
2. How we use information
We use your information to: generate and deliver your briefs; operate, secure, and improve the Service; enforce usage limits; respond to support requests; send service-related messages (such as sign-in links and delivery notices); and comply with law. Your coverage preferences are used to steer sourcing, selection, and writing of your briefs. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Service providers
We rely on a small set of processors to run the Service, each receiving only what it needs: cloud infrastructure and database hosting for accounts and preferences; an email delivery provider to send sign-in links and briefs; artificial-intelligence model providers that process news text and your coverage preferences to classify and write briefs; and market-data providers for watchlist quotes. These providers act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
4. What we do not collect
We do not ask for or store payment card numbers ourselves; when paid billing launches, payments will be handled by a dedicated payment processor. We do not collect information from your employer's systems, and briefs are built only from publicly available sources and the preferences you set.
5. Retention
Account information and preferences are kept while your account is active. Sent-brief history is retained so your Past Briefs archive works. Operational logs are kept for a limited period for security and reliability. When your account is deleted, associated personal information is deleted or de-identified within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your choices and rights
You can review and update your preferences in the portal at any time, pause deliveries, or unsubscribe from briefs. You may request a copy of your personal information, or its correction or deletion, by emailing info@sectorbrief.ai. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (such as the GDPR or CCPA); we will honor valid requests consistent with those laws.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections, passwordless email sign-in, and access controls that restrict each account to its own data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is intended for professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. International transfers
The Service is operated from the United States, and information is processed there and in the regions used by our service providers. By using the Service you understand your information may be processed outside your home jurisdiction.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in the portal, and the effective date above will be updated.
